New Website

We've redone our website. I'm sure you've noticed that already, but if not then this is news to you.

Our old website was in dire need of an upgrade and we thought a complete overhaul was the best way to do that.

We've tried to follow our own advice of KISS (Keep It Simple, Stupid). We took a minimalist approach and only included what we thought were the necessities. At the same time we wanted to deliver a high quality website and add a little bit of something extra so it's not the same old boring website that looks exactly the same as the last 5 sites you've visited today. These are the same goals we strive to achieve with all the projects we undertake and deliver for clients.

We used Nuxt to deliver a blazingly fast site (nobody likes to wait around for a site to load) with a few simple, but eye-catching, animations to set us apart. We've gone with a dark colour scheme, this is mostly because our logo looks a lot better on a dark background.

Of course it's mobile friendly, it's actually mobile first (which means we build first for mobile and then adjust aspects for desktop). You might not notice, but the background colour is different depending on the size of the screen you're using. On small screens the background is pure black. Why did we do this? First I need to explain one aspect of OLED screens (which most top-end phones are coming with). OLED screens don't require a backlight and therefore only light up specific pixels, so part of the screen will be on and part will be off, reducing your power consumption. When a black pixel is displayed that pixel of the screen actually switches off, unlike other screens which use a backlight that remains on and displays a black pixel. This is the thought behind having a pure black background on mobile devices, to tap into this cool OLED technology. It probably won't make a huge difference to your battery life but it's always nice to take advantage of technological advancements.

We've also redone our app pricing form, making it more simple to use. Go try it out if you haven't used it yet, who knows you might decide to build an MVP or even a full blown app and platform.

And of course, we're writing blogs now (as you can see), so hopefully this website overhaul helps us share our latest news, projects and adventures with you.

Please give us your thoughts, ideas and comments about our new site and just general comments, we love to hear from you.
